Fans, fans, fans! There wouldn't have been a New Mickey Mouse Club without them. Some of us were just starstruck and wanted to be famous, some wanted nothing more than a date with Kelly. But we all had one thing in common, we just loved those kids in the polyester jumpsuits and matching Mickey Mouse ears! It would be great to see pictures that were taken during the time the New Mickey Mouse Club aired, perhaps a photo of you with a Mouseketeer, or better yet, you dressed as a Mouseketeer! When I was twelve, two of my friends and I took dancing lessons together. We had a talent/gong show in our sixth grade class, so the three of us put together costumes similar to these that the Mouseketeers wore. We did a tap dance to "Showtime for Everyone" (I think), and sadly, we got gonged within about 5 seconds. I wish I had a picture of us from that day. These first four pictures were taken in 1978 by Dale aka Dooley. We used to sit at the Space Stage all morning waiting to see the Mouseketeers' shows. In the first picture, my brother and I are sitting in the second row on the very right side of the picture. He has the really blonde hair and I am sitting on his right. It was so fun to see these because I didn't take any pictures of the fans. Seeing them brought back so many memories...this was probably the best summer of my childhood. The next four pictures were taken 7/25/99 after the NFFC Disneyana convention. We went to the infamous Shakeys on Harbor Blvd. where the Mice and fans used to go after the Disneyland shows.

We had a big fan get-together the weekend of the 25th Reunion. Many of us were meeting each other for the first time, even though we have been corresponding for a few years now. On Friday night, I hosted a party at my home where we shared pictures and memorabilia. Then we attended the reunion the next day and on Sunday, some of us went to Disneyland together. It was a Mouseka- spectacular weekend! And here are some of the fans posing with Todd, Curtis, Pop and Scott at the reunion.
